New Build Veterinary Hospital
T.D. Jagger Limited were appointed by Hird & Partners to assist with the procurement of a new development site and to undertake the architectural design and project management of a new two storey, 8,600 ft² veterinary surgery from inception through to completion.
The site selected is situated close to the Grade 1 listed building of Halifax Minster and is within the Halifax Town Centre conservation area.
Specific consultations were undertaken with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and independent specialist consultants to ensure that the buildings layout and design met supplementary design criteria and to ensure that specialist rooms such as the X-ray Room were appropriately designed to perform both functionally and safely.
The development was designed to achieve low carbon emissions with consideration given to current climate change issues.
The development was procured under a traditional JCT Intermediate Design Contract and was successfully completed in March 2015 with a project cost of circa £1,000,000.00.
In June 2015 the project won the West Yorkshire Local Authority Building Control “Best Commercial Development” award.
